MEHRAM: T-this- Oh stars. Deep breaths, Shahdi. Deep breaths.
This the audio log of Second Navigator Shahdi Mehrahm, 6711513, stationed onboard the…
Formerly stationed on board the survey vessel C.F.S. Felicity Condition. I’m currently… I don’t know. I don’t know where I am. I don’t know where anyone is. It’s just me.
I don’t know if anyone will hear this. I don’t even know if it’s recording. I-i’m sorry, Ta.
We were en-route to Raja 311, on an survey mission. Then… I don’t know. My memory is fuzzy. I remember the Captain barking orders, Zara glitching out, First Navigator McMillan looking scared for the first time…
And then I don’t remember anything else, until waking up here.
It’s dark. Pitch black. The only light is the little blinking one on you, Ta. I can just make out my hands, and the slightest reflection off of what look like metal walls. It feels like I’m sitting in a void. It’s… quiet. Perfectly quiet. When I’m not talking, I can hear my own blood, pumping through my veins. It’s terrifying. That’s why I’m talking. Trying to… beat back the silence, I guess.
It’s not really working. I can’t bring myself to speak above the barest whisper. It’s oppressive.
Shouting and hollering probably isn’t the best idea anyway, huh, Ta?
I’m- I’m going to try getting up now. The wall is flat, smooth. Very cold. It almost feels like my skin will stick to it.
Well, I’m not injured. So… could be worse.
Surprisingly enough, absolute darkness looks pretty much the same from a standing position as it does- AHH!
